What does “Private Games” really mean?
With Try-N-Escape, only you and your guests are grouped in an escape room! No strangers allowed! Once you book the room, it’s for you and your group only! You can invite others to the game and have them pay on arrival.
How does the pricing work?
Because the rooms are private, pricing is based on a minimum amount. For 2 players, you can have the room for $45.00 per person. For 3 players, the price drops to $35.00 per person. For 4 players or more, the cost is $30.00 per person.
What is an escape room anyway?
An escape room is a room full of puzzles and clues where your goal is to solve all of the puzzles to find a path out of the room. For a more detailed history check out our blog post.
Are the doors really locked?
As much as we’d like to really lock you in, the fire marshal here in our great city kind of frowns on that! As you enter the game, your guide will explain which doors are ‘theoretically’ locked.
Are the games scary?
Some of the rooms can have darker themes, but all in all, no they’re not too scary. Or are they? Check the Kid Approved value on each room page and you’ll get a good idea of what to expect.
How much does it cost to play?
Each adventure is priced at $30 per person. Occasionally there are promotional codes available.
How old do you have to be to play?
We’ve had players from 8 to 80. If the players are very young but they’re precocious, they’ll enjoy themselves. Otherwise, we would suggest 10 years old or older.
Do I have to be some kind of genius to play?
Absolutely not. We created the puzzles ourselves and last I checked there were no rocket scientists here. Ergo, I think you’re good to go!
How many people can play at once?
Each room can be different but generally the games are for 2 – 10 players. Need a few more slots for a party or team event? Give us a call and we’ll get it hooked up.
Wait, what? Team event?
Absolutely! Escape rooms are excellent team building events!
Can my group have exclusive use of the room?
Yes! All rooms are private! When you book the minimum number of spots, it’s your room for your group – no stranger danger!
Can I request a special event?
Of course. Just hit us up via the contact page and let us know what you’re thinking and we’ll see what we can do to make it happen.
What time should I show up for my game?
We ask that you be here at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time. That gives us the opportunity to go over the concept, explain some rules, and get you kick started.
How long are the games?
Each room can be different depending on the puzzles, but generally, each game is 1 hour.
What happens if I don’t escape?
We put you to work in the kitchen. Just kidding. We have pillows and blankets to make your stay more comfortable in the event you don’t escape. Just kidding again. This is too easy. You will eventually get out even if we have to drag you through the exit door!
Are there any flashing or strobe lights?
Currently, no, there are no flashing lights though there are some lighting effects. If a room does contain anything that could negatively affect a person, there will be a warning on the room’s page.
What if I suffer from claustrophobia?
For the most part, all the rooms have plenty of space to freely move around. If there is a component that requires a tight space, there will be a warning on the room’s page.
What happens if I can’t make my appointment?
If you contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your booking, we can either reschedule your booking or refund your payment. If it’s within 24 hours, it affects our ability to book out the spot so we can no longer offer a refund or reschedule. Hit us up via the contact page or give us a call and we’ll get you sorted out.
Ok, I’m sufficiently frightened and ready to feel like an idiot! Where do I sign up?
Excellent, let’s get you booked in for some fun!
I tried to get my answer on this page, but alas it’s not here. Help!
